On the far east end of the settlement is Mayor Jacob Orden's house, kept behind a a Master-locked door. To the left of the entrance is an Advanced-locked house, and beyond that is Covenant's public house. Beyond the farm is Penny's shop, which also hosts the doctor's office. Upon entering, there is a small corn, tato and mutfruit farm, and the settlement's workshop on the right. There is not a lot of scrap materials to support building more structures within, but the four buildings are entirely intact, making for great shelter for other settlers. The interior also has lots of space for agricultural plots, as well as water wells. Despite the moderate threat of being raided, these walls and the single entrance make it extremely well defended. Covenant is of moderate size, contained within its high walls. This settlement is accessible by completing Human Error in favor of Covenant, or by slaughtering the current inhabitants. If they are determined to be a synth, they are executed to help every other wastelander. While the residents do not so much as mention synths, their purpose is to report any strange interactions with visitors so they may be rounded up and interrogated at the Compound. The SAFE test is actually a psychological examination to determine if any visitors to the village are Institute synths. Ĭovenant keeps their true intentions in the shadows the quaint, perfect existence is all an act. Recently, Honest Dan rolled into town investigating one of Old Man Stockton's caravans, but the residents of Covenant deny that such a caravan even came through. One only needs to pass a simple test known as SAFE to enter the village. As such the entire town is something of a mass grave of broken synths and butchered bodies. This settlement sports impressive defenses, quaint amenities, and the residents are strangely friendly for the wasteland. Well, problem is, that the testing methods the town uses to judge whether you're going to be turned into spare parts are a little hit and miss, and from time to time regular humans end up getting the chop.
So why is this a bad thing I hear you ask? Technically synths aren't alive and they are used as weapons by The Institute, so chuck them on the scrappy right? Yet beneath the smiles of the inhabitants, it turns out that Covenant has a dark secret, in that they've been drawing in and killing synths in an effort to purge them from the Wasteland. Say hello to the settlement of Covenant, an almost idyllic location set in Fallout 4 where aside from some wear and tear seems to be doing really well. However I digress, as today we're not looking at just one dirty secret being hidden by a sole character, but a bunch of them that a whole town would care to forget. From secret synths to mass murderers hiding in plain sight, Fallout as a whole is basically a monstrous statement on "don't trust what you see".Įxcept for Fallout 76 which looked and indeed was like a piece of trash. Therefore when it comes to picking a dark secret from a character within this franchise it's actually an easier task to rule out who doesn't have one.
